Mercy Center in Burlingame Come find out why some people exclaim that the best vacation they ever had was a Rosen Method Residential Intensive! The Rosen Residential Bodywork Intensive and Retreat 2023 is being taught on the resplendent grounds and gardens of the Mercy Center Burlingame located in San Mateo County, CA.

The Mercy Center Burlingame is steeped in traditions attending to the deep love of community, spirituality, and care for the earth, and these rich traditions promise to support our Rosen community as we develop our capacity for self-awareness through gentle direct touch, joyful movement and dialog.

The Teaching team is Sara Webb, Theresa Garcia and as a teacher in training Cassie Scott, they will  explore the essence of Marion Rosen’s understanding of the mind-body connection through demonstrations, shared discussion and supervised practice. The intensive offers the possibility slow down to the inherent rhythms of our body and listen deeply into the wisdom held within us in an environment of natural beauty, transformation, and community. It is one component of a complete training program in Rosen Method Bodywork, and this course is open to Both career-track students and those who are interested in personal growth. For first-time participants, an application process is required.

Sara Webb was Marion Rosen’s first student and was her colleague at the School for many years. Sara has been the executive director in Berkeley since the School was founded. Sara brings extensive experience in guiding students to a deeper understanding of the body’s language.

Theresa Garcia is a Senior Movement and Bodywork Training Teacher and head of the Movement Training Program. She has a private Rosen Bodywork practice in San Francisco and teaches weekly movement classes in the Bay Area.  She is a student of the Alexander Technique and is delighted to invite others to rediscover their inner essence through movement and touch. These two teachers have deep roots in their shared understanding of this transformative work.

Cassie Scott, in her Rosen practice is passionate about listening to the body and bringing curious and compassionate touch to physical holding. Cassie is a registered massage therapist. Cassie’s practice is informed by three decades of body-mind engagement including meditation, movement improvisation, yoga, expressive arts practices, and gardening. Now Cassie is on her way to becoming a Rosen Method Bodywork teacher.
